Join us on the weekend of September 24 & 25th 2016 for St. Louis only Half Distance Triathlon taking place in beautiful Alton, Illinois. This point to point race is the areas premier destination race boasting a beautiful 1.2 mile swim off the Mississippi River, a 56 mile bike course throughout Missouri and crossing the Lewis & Clark bridge into Illinois, and finishing with a 13.1 mile run going south along the rivers elevated bike path. Both T2 and the Epic finish line are located at the Alton Riverfront Amphitheater. This race highlights many aspects of the great “Riverbend” area, while staying flat and extremely fast throughout the course. Are you looking for a half distance triathlon that caters to newbies trying to accomplish their first 70.3 miles of racing? Are you a veteran looking to hammer out your fastest half triathlon ever? If that sounds like you, then this is your race. Hundreds of athletes use these locations as “destination” training grounds, and at Border Wars you get to race them! No excuses folks the area is splendid beyond words, the course is fast as you could ask for, and the event management team takes this race to a whole new level! We love our athletes and we love watching you compete. Add in the Epic Team East & Team West competition for bragging rights & a traveling trophy, as well as the club challenge-and you quickly realize that this race is the real deal! The Teams are now 1-1 after 2 years of racing…we expect nothing but serious competition to be brought by both sides of the Mississippi with every finisher scoring for his/her team!
