T1 Description: 301 Riverlands Way, West Alton, MO 63386 (continue east past this address until you are at T1)
T1 is located on Riverlands Way. Athletes will be assigned to racks via bib number based on division and you must set up in the assigned spots. Athletes can run through transition; however they can NOT mount their bike until they are in the bike mount zone outside of transition. The “Swim IN” and “Bike Out” gates will be clearly marked and have volunteers stationed at them to assist athletes in flowing through T1. Please note that the signs must be followed in order to get correct timing for the race. All T1 items must be bagged in the self provided transition bag with the gear check tag attached prior to heading out on the bike, plan for this step. T1 Items (except bag) must be set on Saturday 9/24/16. No bike drop offs race morning, and ALL athletes must ride the shuttle buses over to T1/Swim start, unless a spectator parking pass for T1 was requested. You must have your bib (no spectators) to enter any transition on both Saturday and race day.
The “Swim In” gate will have water and Heed (flavor TBD)available for athletes
T2: 1 Henry St. Alton, IL 62002 (right at the amphitheater)
T2 is located at the Alton Riverfront Amphitheater. It will be near race day parking, and the finish line/post race activities. All athletes will check in at T2 on race morning setting up there run equipment at there designated bike rack spot. Shuttles for athlete transportation to T1 & the start will pick up here. T2 will have both a “Bike In” and a “Run Out” gate. It is important that these signs are obeyed when entering/exiting T2 for both timing purposes and athlete safety. You must dismount your bike in the dismount zone and jog it through the gate to your designated bike rack spot. Volunteers will be at both gates assisting athletes with direction, but please make yourself aware of the race flow. You must have your race bib to enter all transitions (no spectators allowed), and you will not be able to clear T2 (post race) until the announcer gives permission. There will be side gates to use at the designated time.
The “Run Out” gate will have water, HEED, Hammer Gel (flavor TBD).
